We are backed by over 130 years of the most credible and effective voice on issues relating to the welfare of children and animals – American Humane
Founded in 2001 by Diana McQuarrie, Denver Pet Partners, a successful animal-assisted therapy organization, joined forces with Denver-based American Humane in 2007. Integrating mutual missions, American Humane expanded and enhanced its national leadership in promoting the positive impact of the human-animal bond through adding direct services in animal-assisted therapy. Denver Pet Partners was empowered to evolve its reach beyond the immediate community and expand its focus to include national initiatives. Together, American Humane and Denver Pet Partners, now American Humane Animal-Assisted Therapy, has and continues to, significantly increase the knowledge base about the value of the human-animal bond and the effectiveness of incorporating animals into the therapeutic process to enhance healing and learning on a local, national and even international level.
